 Crafty Beaver is locally owned and operated serving Chicagoland since 1934. Our Lawrence Avenue store (pictured left) was opened in 1934 on Chicago's north side, followed by the Skokie, IL store in 1946, the Montrose Avenue Chicago store in 1975, and the Central Avenue Chicago store in 1980. Warehouse locations were added in Skokie in 1983 and in Chicago in 1985. Crafty Beaver is a full line lumber and building material distributor serving both retail and contractor customers. We also carry a complete line of hardware and home improvement products.
In the late 70's our now "famous" Crafty Beaver character was developed and now serves as our company logo. In 1992 Crafty Beaver became a member of Do It Best Corp. and has just completed in 2000 a complete remodel of our stores to the Do It Best store concept. |
